It is so hard to believe that 5 years ago today I was holding this tiny little bundle with a head full of dark hair after 15 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing and an emergency c-section. Time has flown and Grace has blessed our lives in so many ways. During my pregnancy, I learned what true faith was. I lost her twin at 13 weeks and was on bed rest for 7 weeks with a placental abruption, placenta previa complete, and a blood clot between my cervix and placenta. We were on pins and needles for the 7 weeks praying that our little girl would make it to 25 weeks. I had no control so I put it in the hands of God. Honestly speaking, Hunter and I were made to take a step back trust that God would hear our prayers. At the end of the 7 weeks, the doctors could not find anything wrong with me but told us that medically speaking I should not still be pregnant. Our reply to the doctors was that God had heard our prayers. As a mother I have said so many prayers for this sweet and loving child God blessed me with.
She is strong willed and stubborn but so kind and loving to everyone. She is a caretaker and a leader. She is an amazing big sister who loves to teach Hope new things. She is a little too smart for her own good and is going to give her kindergarten teacher a good run for her money next year. She is funny and very creative. She loves bible class and loves going to Mr. Charlie's Church even more (children's church). Her favorite song is Blue Skies and Rainbows and her favorite bible story has always been David and Goliath. She says the most beautiful and innocent prayers as she prays for everything she can think of. My favorite part of her prayer now is when she says "And God, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us so that one day we can die and go to heaven too!" She asks so many questions about heaven and Jesus.
Thank you God for this little ray of sunshine that you sent me to care for. Thank you for using her to teach me what true pure love is and how to give it in return. Please guide my child to grow in your grace and knowledge and love. May she always use the obstacles that life brings to help her be a strong and loving young woman who lets your light be seen in her.
