Answered Prayers

As adults it is so hard to understand why God does not give us the answers that week seek and pray for sometimes. I can remember as a child, my mom always told me that sometimes God tells us no. He gives us an answer but it is might not be the one we wanted. We had to explain this to Grace this week when our sweet friend, Jenny Bizaillion went home to Heaven to be made whole again.

At dinner Monday night, we told Grace that Mrs. Jenny had died and we needed to pray for Mr. David & Malaya and the rest of her family because they were sad right now. Grace got upset and told us she did not understand. My 5 1/2 year old looked me in the eyes and told me, "Mommy, you said that when we pray, God answers our prayers. But I prayed to God that he would help Mrs. Jenny get better but she didn't. I told God that he did not need her with him because Malaya needed her Mommy! Mommy, God did not answer my prayer!"

You could say it caught me by surprise. It was not a conversation I was honestly prepared to have with a 5 year old. I looked her in the eyes and told her what my Mamma told me. I said, "Grace, God always answers our prayers. However, sometimes he tell us no and gives us an answer that we don't want. God decided that he needed Mrs. Jenny in heaven with him."

My very wise daughter looked at me and said, "So Mamma, it is like when I ask you for something and you and Daddy tell me no because you know I don't need it? Maybe I need something else?"

If only it was that simple for us to accept. As with all of us, she was so sad. However, knowing that God needed Mrs. Jenny in Heaven was enough for her. Oh to be like a child and accept that answer so easily. We don't know why God took her so young but we do know we have Him to lean on. Maybe that is part of the lesson. We don't have to know why but to trust in Him and lean on Him in our prayers.

Hope for Jenny

Our friend, Jenny Bazaillion, is very sick and has been in ICU for almost 14 days now and it has weighed so heavy on my heart. She came down with the flu but it turned septic and then she developed a staff infection. Her organs have shut down and now she is facing possible amputations in her feel and hands. Jenny is a 31, vivacious Christian woman with an adoring husband, David, and precious daughter, Malaya. Her dad was our minister when we were at Lake Cities and this family came to mean a lot to us. David is someone that Hunter really came to respect and taught him a lot about sharing his faith while we were there. True, we have not remained that close to them but Jenny always comments on my facebook posts and has a hug for me when we see each other.
For the last 2 weeks, she and her family have remained a constant prayer in my head and heart. I have said so many prayers for this family. I find myself thinking about them all the time from when I am cooking dinner and thinking how David prays to see her do such a simple task to hugging my children and tucking them into bed and how Malaya must long for her Mamma to be there for such things. David's posts on facebook have brought me to tears and prayers once again. I think they have chosen a perfect scripture to be their guide and cry during this time...

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

This morning I heard one of my favorite songs on the way to work and it has been stuck in my head all day. It made me immediately think of David and Jenny's whole family...

While I'm Waiting by John Waller
I'm waiting; I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful; I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful, But patiently, I will wait
I will move ahead, bold and confident, Taking every step in obedience

While I'm waiting I will serve You
While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
I'll be running the race, Even while I wait

I'm waiting, I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful, I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy, But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait, I will serve You while I'm waiting

I will worship while I'm waiting, I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting, I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Please pray for this sweet family and Jenny’s healing. Pray that God will bring them peace and rest during this time.

A Little Bit of JOY!

It is official... we are having baby girl #3 and we can't wait to meet her. Isabella Joy is sure to live up to her name... Beautiful Happiness! Yes, we had wanted a boy but we are so excited about this sweet little girl. We can't wait to get our hands on her and see who she looks like when she is ready to come out. The girls had a little bit of mixed emotions. Hope has wanted a baby sister from the get go. Grace, well, not so much! We bought a bunch of pink balloons to bring the girls when we told them. When Hunter asked if they knew why we brought pink balloons, Grace got a horrible look on her face and whispered, "It's a girl?" She promptly burst into tears and wailed that she did not want another sister. Ha! After a little bit of talking, we finally got it out of her that she only wanted a brother so that she could keep the train table we have upstairs (we want to sell it in a garage sale because they NEVER play with it). Funny girl!

They have both been so sweet. They both kiss my belly and talk to our little one all the time! My favorite is when they sing to my tummy. What fun we are going to have with 3 little girls! What DRAMA we are going to have with 3 little girls!

We got a little bit of news that was a startling at first and honestly had me freaked out. I had to see a specialist yesterday and they discovered that my placenta is really low. It is sitting on my cervix and on the scars of my previous c-sections. He kind of gave us the doom and gloom scenario. It can cause what is called an Acreeda. It causes complications in your 3rd trimester. If my placenta does not move up, it can attach to the mussels in the wall of my uterus on my scars. (I was not able to find much about it on the internet.) If this occurs, they would have to do a partial hysterectomy and remove my uterus when I deliver and they would have to take the baby early. They said there were other complications that could occur with me(?). However, the baby is safe and they are watching me. I will see the Perinatologist and have a sonogram every time I go see my OB.

We are very optimistic and have faith that God will take care of me and the baby. Please keep us in your prayers and pray that my placenta moves up and away from my c-section scars and that our little Bella Joy will be safe and healthy
