Beauty and the Beast

A few weeks ago, we had had the pleasure of going to see my niece in her high school play, Beauty and the Beast. Katy is my girl. She was the first niece and after she was born, everyone thought she belonged to me. She is a vivacious 15 year old who is growing up way too fast! We were all so proud when she landed the role of Mrs. Potts in the school play. She one of only 2 freshman who even got a part and both of them had major roles. The night of the play, we all went out to dinner. My sister-in-law and brother kept telling me that it was not our goofy Katy on the stage. It was and completely grown up Kate and I was going to bawl like a baby when I heard sing her solos. I DID! She was incredible. It seems like only yesterday that I was holding that 2 month old at my high school graduation and now she will be graduating in just 3 short years. Then it made me think about how fast my girls were going to grow up and already were...time truly flies!
Did I ,mention that my precious nephew, Trystian, had a part? He is in the second grade and he is my baby. When I moved back to Texas, I lived with Ricky and Dolores and the kids. Trystian was only 3 months old when I moved in quickly became my baby. At the end , when the spell was broken, he ran out as Chip! IT was so sweet and made me cry again to hear him calling out, “Mama, Mama, do I still have to sleep in the cupboard?” and to see him run across the stage to his big sister, Mrs. Potts!

So anyways, it was amazing and the girls had a blast! Grace kept telling Aunt DoDo that Beast was really not in love with Belle and the he was really going to marry her! The whole thing fascinated Hope. Dolores' parents thought that she would be asleep by the intermission since it did not start until 8:00. NOPE! She was wide-awake and loved. Grace hid in the scary parts and they amazed Hope!

Afterwards, we were able to do character pictures and since KayKay was in the play Uncle Ricky and K took them to meet and talk to all the enchanted cast members. We got autographs and even got to meet Beast's mommy. She told G that she was sure that Beast would love to attend a sleepover at her house sometime. Hope was infatuated with Belle. She hugged and kissed her and could not get enough of her. We had a wonderful time and now our favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast! The girls think it is so cool that they are cousins with Mrs. Potts! Enjoy the pictures...
